Where systemsmeet the
balance sheet

UTME trains engineers who understand markets, managers who understand code, and economists who can read a schematic. Three schools, one method: build the model, then test it against the real world.

Three disciplines,
one accreditation.

UTME was chartered in 1987 on a simple premise: technology, management, and economics are not separate faculties competing for budget — they are one discipline, taught in three accents.

Most universities keep engineers, managers, and economists in separate buildings. We put them in the same studio courses, so a robotics thesis is defended in front of an economist, and a monetary policy paper is stress-tested by a systems engineer.

  • Studio and lab work paired with a costing or valuation exercise in the same term
  • Over 40% of faculty hold a joint appointment across at least two schools
  • Every student completes a year-long capstone with an outside partner
  • Core sequence in quantitative reasoning and applied ethics, regardless of school
  • A single credential on graduation — not three separate ones

Pick a lens, not a silo.

Every student declares a home school, but every studio and seminar draws faculty from all three.

Economics

Markets & policy — econometrics, trade, and public finance, with a heavy dose of applied data work from year one.

Every credential, one register.

Applications for Fall 2027 open now.

Rolling review begins October 1. UTME considers technical portfolios, business plans, or research notes alongside transcripts — you don't need to have picked a lane yet.

01

Submit your materials

Transcripts plus one supporting work sample — a portfolio, business memo, or research note, your choice.

02

Cross-school interview

A panel with one faculty member from each of the three schools, regardless of which one you've applied to.

03

Decision in 6 weeks

Financial aid offers are issued alongside admission decisions, not weeks later.

A simple, convenient way to demonstrate your English skills.

Our online English Language Test takes place via Google Meet and is based on a friendly, conversation-style interview with one of our examiners for 15 minutes. It's a great opportunity to showcase your fluency, comprehension, and communication abilities as part of your admission process.

You do not need to take this test if you:

  • Are a native English speaker, or
  • Have completed a previous degree in English, or
  • Hold an accepted English proficiency certificate (such as IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo, etc.)
Note: if your English grade on your 12th-grade certificate (final marksheet from secondary education) is below 50%, the test does not replace the subject requirements for the study programme.

Scheduling & fee

  • Step 1

    Request your invoice

Email admissions@utme.lt for an invoice covering the test fee.

  • Step 2

    Pay with your application fee

The test is only scheduled once the application fee is also paid.

  • Step 3

    Pick a time slot

You'll get a link to choose from several available slots.

  • Step 4

    Take the interview

15 minutes, one-on-one, over Google Meet.

  • Step 5

    Receive your certificate

An official UTME English Language Certificate with your assessed level.

Your Temporary Residence Permit, step by step.

Students from outside Lithuania study on a Temporary Residence Permit (TRP), typically issued for two years and renewable. Start early — the full process runs 4–6 months.

The timeline

  • 5–6 mo. before

    Start gathering documents

Begin at conditional acceptance — insurance, funds, and record checks take time.

  • 4–5 mo. before

    Get your mediation code

Issued 5–10 working days after final acceptance and signed study contract.

  • 4–5 mo. before

    Submit via MIGRIS

Lithuania's Migration Information System, with digital copies of every document.

  • 4–5 mo. before

    Book your appointment

At your nearest VFS Global center, within 4 months of applying.

  • Before decision

    Attend the online interview

With the Migration Department — come prepared, this step matters.

  • ~2 months

    Wait for the decision

Standard processing time under the general procedure.

  • 1+ mo. before

    Receive your TRP card

Once approved, you can travel to Lithuania to begin studies.

Documents you'll need

  • 01

    Valid passport

Valid 2+ years, with both name and surname fields completed.

  • 02

    Mediation code & tuition receipt

Submitted via MIGRIS once your signed study contract and payment receipt are on file.

  • 03

    Confirmation of residence

We recommend declaring this about a month after you arrive.

  • 04

    Certificate of no criminal record

Covering the past 2 years; apostille or double-legalisation depending on your country.

  • 05

    Health insurance

Min. €10,000 coverage, Lithuania + Schengen, valid 1+ year.

  • 06

    Proof of funds

Roughly €6,918 on hand, or €577/month across the permit's duration.

  • 07

    Application fee
